چکیده
The objective of this work was to evaluate water quality in the Sinú River northern Colombia, duringits dry and rainy seasons. index (WQI), heavy metal pollution (HPI),the evaluation (HEI), toxicity load (HMTL), degree ofcontamination (Cd) were calculated based on analyses samples taken along entire lengthof river at sixteen sampling sites. Comprehensive some cases punctual samplings wereperformed depending morphology current. Five carried out andrainy periods from March 2008 April 2009. All triplicate each samplingsite. For determination metals, a Thermo electron atomic absorption spectrometer, modelS4AA System used. Of metals monitored, only zinc, iron, manganese identified atquantifiable levels, with average values 8.5 x 10⁻⁵ kg m-3, 0.004 424 m-3 8.5x10⁻⁵ m-3,respectively season. obtained altogether (WQI =63.5, HPI=145, HEI=24, HMTL=0.1329, Cd= 20.8) revealed presence contamination by River, although observed level does not imply hazard human health.

Water and sediment samples were collected from six different stations, located along the Nil River between February and June 2015. Concentrations of cadmium, lead, zinc, and copper were determined. The extent of the sediment pollution was assessed, using the multiple pollution indices, namely contamination factor (CF), pollution load index (PLI), and the geoaccumulation index (Igeo). The result...

متن کاملAssessing landfill leachate heavy metal effect on the surface water quality: A case of Gheshlagh River, Sanandaj City, Iran
Pollution resulted from the leachate of the Sanandaj City landfill into Gheshlagh River is an important environmental and health issue, which has endangered the river. Having a population of more than 400,000 and four municipality districts, the solid waste generation rate is approximately more than 300 tons/day in Sanandaj City. The wastes generated are disposed of at the Sanandaj City landfil...
متن کاملEnvironmental effects of the cold water fish farms effluents on the water quality of Gamasyab River as their main source of water supply in the west of Iran
Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is one of the most-widely cultivated cold fresh water fish in the world. Gamasyab River, with a length of about 200 Km, is one of the longest rivers of Iran. The aim of this research is to determine the effects of trout farm effluents on this river water. From a total of 24 trout farms in the area, four farms were randomly selected and three sampling statio...
